Google’s AI chatbot can now be used without unlocking your (Android) phone.
Gemini can be accessed even faster by Android users from now on. Google’s AI chatbot is now available on the lock screen of Android devices, without the need to unlock your phone. However, certain actions (personal content) still require you to unlock your cell phone, for security reasons.
Enable on lock screen
Want instant access to Gemini on your lock screen? If you are a previous Assistant or Gemini on Lockscreen user, the extensions should work by default. If not, open Gemini > click on the avatar > Settings > Gemini on the lock screen > Enable ‘Use Gemini without unlocking’.

Afterwards, you can try out the chatbot. Use “Hey google” for a hands-free experience, or long-press the power button (forPpixel users). Gemini will still ask to unlock your device for some things, such as when responses contain personal content from apps (such as calendar appointments).
