Opera Air: new browser gives focus to mindfulness
Source: Opera

Opera Air is a free Web browser designed to help you relax while surfing the Web.

Doom scrolling happens quickly with all the news items we see appearing in our feeds daily. In addition, we lose our focus faster and relax less. Opera has therefore launched a new browser: Opera Air.

Floaty or just barely?

Actually, Opera Air is exactly the same as the standard Opera browser. You get the same features, such as ad and tracker blockers, a touch of AI, a sidebar with different apps and “workspaces” of collected tabs. The big difference is in the interface, which should make the browser look calm and increase your focus. Similar settings can be found in Windows 11.

The home screen is an inspirational quote, and while browsing, soothing music called “Boosts” plays. Sometimes Opera urges you to take a break through stretching or meditation exercises. The Boosts have different themes: theta waves (for meditation), alpha waves (for stress-free work), beta waves (for active concentration), gamma waves (for better mental performance). They can also be mixed with lo-fi songs or piano and nature sounds. In total, there are nineteen different Boosts.

You can set a notification to appear every 45 or 180 minutes to take a break, by getting up, moving around or just stopping work for a while. You can also choose relaxation activities, such as standard breathing exercises, deep meditation or neck exercises. Those exercises can optionally be reviewed via webcam, so you don’t make the wrong moves.

The browser is now available for download from Opera’s website in early access.
