Ubiquiti’s first desktop NAS solutions use two to four drives.
Ubiquiti has expanded its business network ecosystem UniFi with two NAS systems: UNAS 2 and UNAS 4. Both devices will be available in Q4.
Ubiquiti UNAS 2
The UNAS 2 is the entry-level model. This NAS has space for two 3.5-inch hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration for backups. The drives are inserted through a hatch at the bottom and locked in place to ensure they’re secure when the device is standing upright.

Thanks to Power over Ethernet (PoE), a single Ethernet cable is sufficient for both power and data; those without a PoE switch will receive a 60W PoE adapter included. A 5 Gbps USB-C port on the front allows for connecting external storage. A small 1.45-inch screen displays real-time performance and storage status.
Ubiquiti UNAS 4
Later this year, the larger UNAS 4 will follow, with a similarly sleek design but significantly more capacity. This model offers space for four 2.5- or 3.5-inch drives and two M.2 NVMe SSDs for fast cache or additional storage. Ubiquiti has not yet released details about the supported RAID modes, though it’s logical to assume there will be more options than just RAID 1.

With this UNAS series, Ubiquiti is targeting users who already use UniFi equipment and need local storage without having to immediately opt for a larger NAS. The UNAS 4 costs €214.80 and the UNAS 4 is available for €408. Prices include VAT. VAT.
