The new Ubiquiti access points are equipped with Wi-Fi 7, but not 6 GHz.
Ubiquiti expands its range with the U7 Lite and In-Wall access points featuring Wi-Fi 7, without 6GHz support. Both models achieve speeds up to 4.3Gbps, but are limited to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
U7 Lite
The U7 Lite is Ubiquiti’s most affordable Wi-Fi 7 access point, offering speeds up to 688Mbps on 2.4GHz and 4.3Gbps on 5GHz. The device features a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, which means that the maximum wireless speed cannot be fully utilized in practice. Additionally, the U7 Lite supports 2×2 MU-MIMO on both frequency bands. The U7 Lite is available for €114.95 including VAT.
U7 In-Wall
The U7 In-Wall is designed for wall mounting and offers the same theoretical speeds as the Lite variant. This model also has a 2.5Gbps input but distinguishes itself with an integrated network switch featuring two additional 2.5Gbps LAN ports. This means the device has extra wired connection options. The U7 In-Wall costs €164.90 including VAT.
Although the 6GHz frequency band is one of the significant improvements of Wi-Fi 7, it is absent in the U7 Lite and In-Wall. In Europe, 6GHz Wi-Fi is less available, making this omission less significant. Both access points do support other Wi-Fi 7 features, such as a wider channel width of 240MHz, multi-link operation, and preamble puncturing for reduced interference.
