Lenovo announces new ThinkPad laptops in the P-series. Both the most powerful and the more entry-level series receive new models. Additionally, Lenovo has found a pot of white paint for the ThinkPad X9 Aura.
During Lenovo Innovation World 2025, Lenovo introduces a comprehensive update for its business laptop portfolio. The ThinkPad series gets the ThinkPad P16 Gen 3, P1 Gen 8, P16v Gen 3, P16s Gen 4, and P14s Gen 6. Moreover, Lenovo is thrilled that the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition is now also available in white, in 14 and 15 inch versions.
ThinkPad P: Extensive Renewal
Lenovo refreshes various devices from the ThinkPad P range of mobile workstations. They all come with a 16-inch 16:10 screen (except for the 14-inch ThinkPad P14s) and 5 MP webcams are the standard in the new range.
We describe below the main features with the maximum configuration and the starting price as shared by Lenovo. Note that the maximum configuration will be significantly more expensive than this starting price, which applies to the (undisclosed) minimum specifications. All prices include VAT. VAT.

White ThinkPad X9 Aura
After introducing the above professional workhorses, Lenovo also finds time to promote the more hype-sensitive ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition. It’s now available in white, but otherwise doesn’t seem to differ significantly from the model we reviewed in April.

Intel still refers to the built-in NPU (which almost all Intel laptops have) and the local AI capabilities that come with it. That local AI story is rather limited according to our tests and certainly not a reason to buy into the narrative.

Lenovo ThinkPad X9 Aura review: In Higher Spheres
The specifications and formats of the ThinkPad X9 Aura are the same as those of the gray version launched in January. The white ThinkPad will be available from October for 1,759 euros.
Peripherals
Lenovo also announces some devices to use in tandem with the PCs. For instance, the manufacturer launches the ThinkVision P40WD‑40 monitor. This display is very wide with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 pixels across a screen diagonal of 39.7 inches.

The screen serves as a dock via Thunderbolt 4 and can charge laptops with PD3.1 up to 140 watts. It will be available from November for 1,499 euros.
If you’re only looking for a dock without a screen, you can turn to Lenovo’s new ThinkPad Smart Docks. The Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 5 Smart Dock 7500 supports, as the name suggests, Thunderbolt 5, which allows the connection of up to three 8K/60 Hz screens, plus one 4K screen. Charging is possible up to 180 watts.

The ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock Gen 2 7500 keeps it a bit more modest (one 8K screen or two 4K/144 Hz screens). It can provide up to 100 watts of charging power. The ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500 is finally a more standard solution for office workers, offering similar functionality. The docks will be available from October for 399 euros, 299 euros, and 229 euros respectively.
