Lenovo unveils a range of consumer PCs during IFA. The Idea series expands with affordable and colorful laptops and AiOs, with Qira on board.

At the IFA trade show, Lenovo has something for everyone. Alongside business ThinkBooks and Yoga laptops for graphics professionals, Lenovo is launching new IdeaPad and IdeaCentre devices at the lower end of its portfolio. There is no shortage of color, with seven color options ranging from golden yellow to green, dark blue, and coral pink. For those who prefer something more neutral, there is also a version with a grey chassis.

The IdeaPad Vibe comes in 14 and 15-inch versions with a Snapdragon X or up to an AMD Ryzen AI 400: with Qualcomm up to 24 GB of non-expandable memory, and with AMD up to 32 GB in two slots. Copilot+ features are available on selected models with 16 GB. The devices are aimed at light use in a portable and colorful design.

The specifications clearly show that the devices are not aimed at business applications. Windows 11 Home is the software, and there is no discrete TPM or business management tools. The HDMI port, being version 1.4, is not up to date with the latest standard. The IdeaPad Vibe devices will be available from October starting at 799 euros incl. VAT. Lenovo also plans to add Intel configurations.

IdeaCentre

The IdeaCentre AiO PCs follow the same logic. The new 23.8 and 27-inch models run on Intel’s Core Series 3, up to a Core 7 350, with up to 40 TOPS. Do not think this is a Copilot+ PC: that figure combines CPU, GPU, and NPU, while the 40 TOPS threshold applies to the NPU alone.

The panel remains at Full HD with up to 120 Hz and 350 nits peak brightness. Furthermore, the devices contain up to 32 GB LPDDR5x (only on the 27-inch), two M.2 slots, six USB ports, and a combined HDMI-in and HDMI-out port up to 4K60. The expected starting price is 999 euros and the IdeaCentre AiO will be available from November.

Qira

What the IdeaPad and IdeaCentre PCs have in common with the business portfolio is the presence of Qira. Lenovo is marketing Qira as a personal AI assistant that is available anywhere and anytime, regardless of which device or application you use, and knows you inside out.

Every Lenovo laptop with at least 16 GB of RAM will be able to run Qira to bring it to a wider audience. Thanks to integrations with Slack, Outlook, Gmail, and calendar apps, Qira can get to know you better, which according to Lenovo will lead to more targeted assistance.
