HP doesn’t want to be responsible for you lacking screen space. Two devices in the HP Series 5 range ensure you have enough pixels at your disposal, both at the office and at home.
HP introduces two very different new displays under the HP Series 5 name. The HP Series 5 Pro 14 is a compact portable monitor, while the HP Series 5 Pro 49 Conferencing Monitor is so wide that we’re amazed a single stand can keep it upright.
Portable
The HP Series 5 Pro 14 Portable Monitor features a 14-inch format with a 16:10 aspect ratio and WQXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels). The display has a brightness of 400 nits, which is quite good for a portable screen. This theoretically makes it usable in bright light conditions.
HP also notes full coverage of both sRGB and Display P3. If the calibration is also on point, these specifications make the screen suitable for graphic workloads where color accuracy is important. HP further mentions the refresh rate of 75 Hz.

The laptop receives power via the USB-C port. As long as your laptop can deliver up to 65 watts of power via USB-C-PD, no additional cable is needed. The manufacturer thoughtfully includes two USB-C ports on the screen: one on each side.
HP expects to start selling the portable monitor from December. The price is still being actively discussed internally: we’ll know it closer to launch.
Wide
The HP Series 5 Pro 49 Conferencing Monitor should appear on shelves by November, but its price is not yet fixed. What is certain is the 49-inch screen diagonal with a 32:9 aspect ratio. This translates to 5,120 x 1,440 pixels (DQHD).

The screen has a maximum brightness of 400 nits and covers 99 percent of the sRGB spectrum. HP equips the monitor as a USB-C dock with HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, 1 USB-C 5 Gbps (once with 15 watt PD and twice with up to 140 watts and DP Alt Mode), 3.5 mm audio jack, three USB-A ports, and an RJ-45 connection.

HP also builds in a 5 MP webcam, along with several speakers. Also interesting is the Virtual Multiple Display mode where you can split the screen into three workspaces to organize applications more efficiently. HP is not new to ultra-wide screens: this HP Series 5 Pro 49 Conferencing Monitor is a big brother to the previously launched HP E45c G5 that we already reviewed.
