The iPhone 17e succeeds the 16e as the ‘most affordable iPhone’ and is expected to deliver fast performance thanks to the A19 chip.

Apple has introduced the iPhone 17e as the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 lineup, featuring an A19 chip, 48MP Fusion camera, and 256GB of storage. According to Apple, the device combines powerful performance with a robust design, long battery life, and advanced AI features under iOS 26.

With the iPhone 17e, Apple is targeting customers who want to upgrade without paying a premium price. The device is equipped with the new A19 chip and C1X modem, which should respectively provide faster performance and mobile data speeds twice as fast as the previous generation. The iPhone 17e further distinguishes itself with a 48MP Fusion camera, a Super Retina XDR display, and an aluminum housing with Ceramic Shield 2.

New chipset and battery performance

The A19 chip, built on 3nm technology, delivers up to twice the performance of the iPhone 11 according to Apple and optimizes AI applications. Apple states that thanks to a more efficient modem and the energy management of iOS 26, the battery lasts a full day. Fast charging is possible via USB-C (up to fifty percent in thirty minutes), while MagSafe supports wireless charging up to 15W.

The device is IP68-certified and has a robust housing that is splash, water, and dust resistant. The Ceramic Shield 2 coating offers triple the scratch resistance compared to the previous generation and reduces reflections.

The iPhone 17e will be available for order starting March 4 for €719 incl. VAT VAT. and is available in three colors. The model has 256GB of memory, which is double that of the iPhone 16e for the same price.
