Ubiquiti launches UniFi 5G Max for mobile connectivity with home or office network

Unifi 5G Max

Ubiquiti launches UniFi 5G Max: a line-up that allows you to quickly equip a home or office environment with 5G connectivity.

Ubiquiti expands its UniFi portfolio with a series of 5G devices under the name UniFi 5G Max. These devices offer wireless WAN connections via 5G for both indoor and outdoor applications, supporting primary, backup, and load balancing connections.

All devices in the 5G Max line are equipped with two SIM slots and support both physical SIM cards and eSIM. The hardware is completely carrier-independent, allowing users to easily switch between mobile providers without restrictions.

With support for speeds up to 2 Gbps and low latency on compatible networks, the new 5G Max devices can be used as a primary connection or as part of a redundant WAN setup. Administrators can set routing policies within UniFi based on SLAs, clients, or VLANs, and configure data limits per SIM card to control costs.

Easy to install

The UniFi 5G Max can be placed on a desk or mounted on a wall or window. The device works through any PoE port and is automatically recognized as a WAN interface within the UniFi network. This eliminates the need for additional network cables and allows users to flexibly determine the device’s location to optimize signal strength.

For locations with poor indoor coverage or challenging conditions, there’s an outdoor variant. This version features a weatherproof IP67 housing and a more powerful antenna. This makes the device suitable for use on roofs, in vehicles, or at external sites.

Combined solution

If a combined solution is more interesting, Ubiquiti provides the Dream Router 5G Max. This router combines 5G with tri-band WiFi 7, local storage via MicroSD, and the complete UniFi OS environment. Users can manage and expand their network without separate components.

Ubiquiti believes there is a growing demand for wireless WAN connectivity in locations where traditional fixed lines are impractical or unavailable. This line-up is designed to address this need. The regular UniFi 5G Max is available for 359 euros excl. VAT. The Outdoor variant costs 415 euros excl. VAT. The Dream Router 5G Max costs 520 euros excl. VAT
