Genetec launches Cloudlink 2210: large-scale cloud-managed physical security

Genetec

Genetec has announced the Cloudlink 2210. The device is designed to help organizations scale their security infrastructure without fully switching to cloud storage or replacing existing infrastructure.

Genetec states that the Cloudlink 2210 was developed for complex enterprise-level deployments. The device addresses challenges such as the cost of cloud storage, support for existing devices without direct cloud connectivity, and the need for local operation during network outages. The 2U rackmount solution is stackable and allows organizations to extend cloud management in environments with many connected devices.

Multiple security workloads

Like other devices in the Cloudlink series, the Cloudlink 2210 supports various workloads in a single device. These include video management, access control, and intrusion detection. By bundling these functions, Genetec aims to limit the number of separate systems and simplify management in larger environments.

The device is based on an open architecture and supports third-party devices such as cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels. This allows organizations to continue using existing hardware within a cloud-managed model. According to Genetec, this reduces migration risks and maintains business continuity during modernization projects.

Local storage and redundancy

According to the manufacturer, the Cloudlink 2210 can support hundreds of devices and offers up to 240 TB of local storage per unit. This makes the system suitable for environments with high retention requirements or limited dependence on cloud storage. Local processing and storage are designed to support performance and availability, even during cloud connectivity outages.

On the hardware side, the device provides RAID protection and redundant system components. Security workloads remain active locally if cloud connectivity is lost. Dual network interfaces provide additional redundancy and support network isolation.

The solution scales by adding extra units as needs grow. Through centralized cloud management, organizations maintain visibility over their deployments. The Cloudlink 2210 is expected to be available worldwide in May 2026.
