Red Hat Introduces European Support in the Context of Data Sovereignty

Red Hat launches a new support model that is fully delivered and managed within the European Union: Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support.

Red Hat launches Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support. The new service is fully executed by verified employees from the 27 EU member states. Technical support is available 24/7 and remains within European borders.

Red Hat is positioning this offering as a response to growing concerns about dependence on non-European technology providers. The initiative builds on experience with regional support models, especially in sectors with strict compliance requirements.

The company is also collaborating with a growing network of more than 500 European cloud partners, some of which already offer sovereign cloud solutions. In this way, Red Hat wants to help customers manage their infrastructure within European regulations and become less dependent on international hyperscalers.

Building Block for Sovereign Cloud

Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support is an important building block of a sovereign solution. Support is often the Achilles’ heel of a sovereign offering. When customers subscribe to a solution with local data, support must also be available locally 24/7. Otherwise, a problem may arise where help is called in from, for example, the US, so that sensitive data still crosses the ocean.

The new support will be available in all EU member states in early 2026. Companies can get more information through their local Red Hat contact person as soon as the service is rolled out.
