Microsoft introduces updated Surface for Business devices, equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and AI capabilities.
Microsoft announces the next generation of the Surface for Business portfolio: the new Surface Pro for Business and the Surface Laptop for Business. Both models are powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, known under the codename Panther Lake.
The RAM crisis has already led to higher prices for Surface laptops, but that isn’t stopping Microsoft from announcing a new range. Albeit with a correspondingly higher price tag.
The 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop for Business 8 start at $1,499.99 and $1,949.99 respectively, including VAT. The 13-inch Surface Pro for Business 12 is available starting from $1,949.99 including VAT. The devices are available starting today.
Surface Laptop for Business
Microsoft is launching two new versions of the Surface Laptop for Business. The standard version is available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes and targets knowledge workers with an advanced haptic touchpad, a high-resolution touchscreen, and a battery life of up to 23 hours.

In selected configurations of the 13.8-inch model, an integrated privacy screen with anti-reflection is also available, which can be software-activated with a single keystroke. Microsoft positions the 13-inch variant as the most portable option in the series, available in 16 GB and 24 GB configurations. Both models feature on-device AI processing, Wi-Fi 7, and a removable Gen 4 SSD for enterprise service.
Surface Pro for Business
The Surface Pro for Business 13-inch 2-in-1 combines touch, voice, pen, and keyboard input with on-device AI processing and is available with 5G for connectivity on the go. The device is aimed at users who work both on the move and at their desks and want a single flexible device for both.

Intel Core Ultra Series 3
The new Surface devices are equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which according to Microsoft deliver up to 35 percent better graphics performance than the MacBook Air with M5 and, in certain configurations, perform more than 90 percent faster than the Surface Laptop 5. Models with Snapdragon X2 processors will appear later this year, promising up to 80 percent faster local AI inferencing and offering longer battery life.
Security
All Surface for Business devices are deployed as Secured-core PCs by default. This means protection from chip to cloud, firmware updates via Windows Update, and integration with the full Microsoft security suite. New is the optional integrated privacy screen with anti-reflection, which instantly protects sensitive information from prying eyes and is easy for IT to manage.
The devices are built on memory-safe firmware thanks to Project Mu, ODP UEFI, and Rust-based drivers. This addresses vulnerabilities that are common in the industry, providing security at every level of the system.
Management for IT teams
Surface for Business devices support the full Microsoft management platform, including Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and the Surface Management Portal. IT teams can centrally deploy and manage devices and enforce policies, including zero-touch deployment for rapid setup.
Thanks to the use of Windows AI APIs and the Foundry platform, Surface serves as a reference for the rollout of AI applications in the enterprise. This provides developers with a reliable hardware foundation for on-device AI processing, which can reduce cloud load.
The new Surface Pro for Business and Surface Laptop for Business are available immediately.
