Anthropic launches Claude for Small Business with fifteen workflows

Anthropic introduces Claude for Small Business, a suite of connectors and ready-to-use workflows for SMEs.

Anthropic is launching Claude for Small Business as a new extension within Claude Cowork. It is a package that places AI agents into existing business software, so that small businesses no longer have to handle repetitive tasks solely through a chat window.

Quick to implement

The solution includes fifteen ready-to-use workflows and fifteen skills for recurring tasks. Anthropic is targeting areas such as finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service.

Claude for Small Business acts as a toggle within Claude Cowork. Users connect the tools they already use and then select a task, after which Claude performs the preparatory work. According to Anthropic, the user always remains in the loop and must first approve a plan or the final action before anything is sent, published, or paid.

The workflows focus on specific processes within small businesses. Examples include payroll planning, month-end closing, invoice follow-up, campaign preparation, contract review, lead triage, margin analysis, and organizing documents for tax season.

Integrations with existing software

The suite connects with Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, and DocuSign, alongside Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Each integration has its own role. PayPal provides data on payments, invoices, disputes, and refunds within Claude.

QuickBooks supports payroll planning, cash flow management, reconciliation, and month-end closing, among others. HubSpot assists with lead triage, customer follow-up, and campaign attribution, while Canva can generate content for various channels. DocuSign can send out contracts for signature, track their status, and archive the signed document.

Anthropic states that existing access rights are maintained. Anyone who currently cannot see something in QuickBooks or Drive will not gain access to it through Claude either. Additionally, the company does not train on customer data within Team and Enterprise subscriptions by default.

Seeking adoption

At launch, the focus appears to be on the American and English-speaking SME landscape. However, the launch demonstrates Anthropic’s direction: like other AI companies, it wants to introduce its own solution into as many workflows as possible with minimal friction, including for SMEs.

Like OpenAI, Anthropic recently started a new company with the goal of bringing AI to market more smoothly. After all, AI companies are currently facing immense investments for which there is no financial return yet. Much broader (paid) adoption is essential to justify those investments.
