Want to distance yourself from distracting noises at home or in the office? The Logitech Zone Wired 2 reads the room and creates a sound bubble in which you can fully focus.
A roaring coffee machine, the radio playing a bit too loud, a ringing phone, a buzzing printer, or the diligent typing of a colleague: in the average office building, it is rarely completely silent. For those who want to find peace in the hustle and bustle, Logitech developed the Zone headphone series. The headphones feature adaptive noise cancellation so you can focus on your work in total silence at home, in the office, or wherever you are.
Logitech recently introduced two new models: the Zone Wireless 2 ES (wireless) and the Zone Wired 2 (cable). For this review, we put the wired version on our heads.
On the cable
The Logitech Zone Wired 2 is a wired headset. Whether you prefer that over a wireless phone is a matter of personal taste. You save 20 euros by opting for the cable. Logitech is generous enough to include that cable, along with a matching USB dongle in a handy case. Fortunately, the cable is the same color as the headset: combining a black cable with a white headset would be a bit of a fashion faux pas.
Despite the included cable being quite long, you are naturally more limited in your freedom of movement with a wired headset. On the other hand, connecting it is child’s play: just plug in the cable and you’re done. You can plug the headset into the USB-A port if your laptop still has one, or opt for the more modern USB-C. Thanks to the soft cushions, the headset is comfortable, but after more than an hour, your ears do start to get warm, so it doesn’t hurt to take it off every now and then.

Made for meetings
Logitech is a manufacturer of IT peripherals. It also designs its headphones based on that expertise. The focus is more on supporting hybrid meetings than on a pure audio experience. During meetings, voices sound clear, and the noise cancellation in the ear cups and microphone prevents background noises from disrupting the meeting.
Behind the ear cups are 40 mm drivers that handle the incoming sound. Music or video sounds clear, but those sensitive to it will not experience the same depth or detail as with headphones from a full-blooded audio specialist. This headset is designed for use in a professional context, and multimedia is secondary. Business first, then pleasure.
Your own bubble
The Logitech Zone Wired 2 aims to help you focus on your work between meetings. The headset features adaptive noise cancellation that adjusts to your environment. The noise cancellation kicks in the moment you put the headset on: ambient sounds are barely audible or even disappear completely.
You can manually adjust the level of noise cancellation via the dedicated control button. This allows you to create your own focus bubble. Noise cancellation in the microphone is intended to ensure that your conversation partners don’t hear ambient noises either. Logitech goes a bit overboard with its marketing here, as the noise cancellation does the same thing as headphones that don’t have an AI label.
In the clips below, we put the microphone to the test. We compare it with the built-in microphone of our laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13). For the first recording of a classic Flemish tongue twister, we make it as quiet as possible.
The undersigned editor lives in the heart of Brussels, where total silence is a rarity. That’s why, in the second test, we let the clatter of roadworks into our living room. To make it even more difficult, we turn the radio up to a moderate volume. However, the Logitech Zone Wired 2 succeeds flawlessly in filtering out all that noise, both for your ears and for the microphone.
Tuning and syncing

The ‘plug and play’ principle means you can use the headset without additional software, but it’s worth installing the Logi Tune app. Logitech’s application is very clear and contains an extensive range of audio functions. You can easily play with the equalizer and noise cancellation or add some extra bass to find the optimal settings for you.
For use in a business environment, there is the Logi Sync app, which is primarily interesting for IT administrators. Logi Sync gives administrators an overview of all Logitech devices present in the organization and the ability to manage firmware updates from one central panel. With Logi Sync, the manufacturer further emphasizes its business focus.
Working in silence
The Logitech Zone Wired 2 is a B2B headset through and through. The focus on business use is evident in every choice Logitech makes. If you don’t have a spot at home or in the office where you can work in peace and quiet, this headset allows you to create your own nearly soundproof bubble. The headset focuses on work so that you can too. The seasoned music lover won’t be fully satisfied, but that is not the target audience Logitech wants to address with this model.
