Logitech launches two new headsets: the Zone Wireless 2 ES and the Zone Wired 2. The connection method differs for each model, but the basic functionality is similar.
Logitech launches two new headsets designed to limit disruptive sounds in open-plan offices: the Zone Wireless 2 ES and the Zone Wired 2 for Business. The models combine adaptive active noise cancellation with ‘AI’-powered microphones and are designed for long-term use.
The Zone Wireless 2 ES and the Zone Wired 2 are designed for employees who face disruptive background noise. Both models feature hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that automatically adapts to the environment. This should enable users to isolate themselves in a noise-free cocoon without too much manual distraction.
With or without a Dongle
According to Logitech, the built-in microphones use AI to filter out disruptive sounds such as keyboard clicks, footsteps, or talking colleagues during calls. The exact role of AI is unclear, as ANC was already successfully filtering out noise before the hype encouraged manufacturers to label everything with AI.
The wireless Zone Wireless 2 ES is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. These certifications ensure compatibility with call control functions, even without using a dongle. This leaves a USB port free. The headset offers up to 20 hours of talk time and 25 hours of listening time with ANC enabled.
For organizations that prefer wired solutions, Logitech offers the Zone Wired 2. This version has the same functionalities as the wireless model, but connects via USB. Consequently, charging is not necessary, and users do not experience interference from sometimes sensitive wireless connections.
Remote Management
IT administrators can manage both headsets via Logitech Sync. This allows firmware updates to be rolled out without disturbing the user. This should reduce the number of helpdesk tickets.
Logitech also focuses on sustainability. The headsets contain recycled materials: at least 30 percent recycled plastic (meaning 70 percent new plastic), 100 percent recycled rare earth metals in the magnets, and a battery with 100 percent recycled cobalt. Components such as ear cushions, headband, and battery are replaceable. The carrying case cover is also made from recycled material.
