Windows 11 had a questionable start, but is now revving up. Sales of new PCs with Windows 11 installed are pushing the market share up sharply.
The latest figures from AdDuplex show that Windows 11 continues to grow sharply since its launch last October. It reached 19.3 percent global market share last month. Compared to last month, the share increased by 3.2 percentage points.
Interestingly, quite a few users are still opting to install the latest Windows 10 update, version 21H2, instead of Windows 11. Windows 10 21H2 accounts for 21 percent market share. The most popular version today is Windows 10 21H1 with 27.5 percent.

The main accelerator for Windows 11 is sales of new PCs that come standard with the operating system. We expect market share to continue to grow systematically with continued sales of new PCs and more users upgrading from Windows 10 as the operating system is quietly perceived as stable.

Meanwhile, Windows 11 continues to evolve at a rapid pace. For example, Microsoft is experimenting with a smaller taskbar for tablet mode and improved task management. Recently, Windows Insiders (beta testers) can also work with Android apps in Windows 11. These do have hefty system requirements, check here to see if your PC qualifies.
