Windows 11 Update Continues to Cause Problems: Printing and Firewall Affected

Microsoft’s June Patch Tuesday update has resulted in a chaotic series of errors, temporary fixes, and new bugs.

The update KB5060842, released on June 10, immediately led to an emergency patch the following day (KB5063060). Meanwhile, the optional preview update KB5060829 is also a source of new complaints.

New Problems

The Print to PDF function on some systems with Windows 11 24H2 suddenly stopped working. The option has completely disappeared from the settings and can no longer be activated, even via PowerShell. Microsoft confirms the issue but states that it primarily affects business users and is therefore “not dramatic”. The announced solution in the form of preview update KB5060829 has been released, but in turn causes new problems.

Users report performance issues after installing the preview update, such as delays when pressing certain key combinations in games. The Windows Firewall also behaves strangely: some users suddenly see unusual notifications and system events, as if the firewall is constantly sounding an alarm. Microsoft calms concerns, stating that these are log messages related to a new feature under development, without any real threat.

Those who don’t want experimental bugs should avoid the optional update. The next official Patch Tuesday is in July and should resolve most issues; and will undoubtedly bring additional problems. Anyone who has already downloaded the update can try to roll it back.
