Microsoft Fixes Broken “Print to PDF” Function

Windows 11 computer

Microsoft has fixed a bug that made “Print to PDF” unusable.

Microsoft has restored the “Print to PDF” function by fixing a bug. The function stopped working on Windows 11 24H2 systems after the April 2025 preview update.

Fix Generally Available Soon

“After installing KB505055627, ‘Print to PDF’ may no longer appear under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners. You may also notice that driver installation is prevented by an error message”, the tech giant writes in the English update notes of April 25, 2025.

Microsoft says the issue has been resolved in the KB5060829 preview update for Windows 11 24H2. That fix can be used generally by all users who install this month’s July Patch Tuesday options. Otherwise, you can manually install the “Printing-PrintToPDFServices” feature via Powershell, writes Bleeping Computer.

Print issues have surfaced this year due to Microsoft updates. For example, in early January, printers started printing complete gibberish.
