Motorola complements its moto g series with new budget models

Motorola launches four new budget models in the moto g series. Noteworthy is the number of OS updates for the two cheapest models: zero.

Motorola introduces four new smartphones in the budget class: moto g77, moto g67, moto g17 and moto g17 power. The cheapest model, the Motorola moto g17, comes down to 199 euros including VAT. The Motorola moto g77 is the most expensive with a maximum price of 329 euros including VAT.

Although the models are in the lowest price segment, you also pay the price for it figuratively. The moto g17 and moto g17 power currently run on Android 15, and no OS updates are provided. In addition, you also get a meager two years of security updates. These smartphones are therefore not made to last long.

moto g77 and moto g67

The Motorola moto g77 is the most expensive model within the announced g-series. The device has a 6.78-inch amoled screen, a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Furthermore, the moto g77 is equipped with a Dimensity 6400 chip and a 5200 mAh battery. Photos are taken with a 108 megapixel main camera, 8 megapixel wide-angle lens and 32 megapixel selfie camera.

The moto g67 is slightly less powerful than the moto g77, with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip. The screen is the same size as the moto g77, but there are savings on RAM (4GB). Furthermore, the moto g67 gets a 50 megapixel main camera.

The Motorola moto g67 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space is available immediately in Belgium for a suggested retail price of 299 euros including VAT. The Motorola moto g77 is available in two variants (8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB) for a respective price of 299 euros and 329 euros including VAT. The devices are available in four different colors: Shaded Spruce, Black Olive, Arctic Seal and Nile.

Moto g17 and moto g17 power

In addition, Motorola is launching two new moto g17 models: moto g17 and g17 power. These models already have a striking common denominator: the Android 15 operating system in combination with zero OS updates. The moto g77 and g67 do slightly better for a budget device with two years of OS updates.

The Motorola g17 power did not get its name by chance. The device is equipped with a sturdy 6000 mAh battery, compared to a 5200 mAh battery for the g17. The smartphones get a MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor on board. Photos can be taken with the 50 megapixel Sony Lytia 600 main camera, 5 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and 32 megapixel selfie camera.

The Motorola moto g17 (8GB/128GB) is available for a suggested retail price of 199 euros including VAT. The Motorola moto g17 power (8GB/256GB) comes down to a suggested retail price of 229 euros including VAT. There is a choice of three colors: Evening Blue, Alaskan Blue and Bordeaux.
