Motorola is expanding the edge 70 series with a new device during MWC. The edge 70 fusion is available with a 7,000 mAh battery.
Motorola has brought new smartphones to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Among other things, the smartphone manufacturer is announcing the edge 70 fusion there. This device is an expansion of the edge 70, which was released at the end of 2025 and was rated by our editors as a rather forgettable mid-ranger.
Can the new edge 70 fusion rise above the competition? Motorola prides itself on the ‘quad curve’ design without sharp edges. This gives the device a slim silhouette, which should still be sturdy enough with IP68 and IP69 certification.
The 6.78-inch display offers a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Motorola also promises a high peak brightness of 5,200 nits. This should ensure the screen remains easily readable even in bright sunlight, allowing you to fully enjoy the first days of spring with your smartphone.
Substantial battery
Large battery capacity seems to be one of the new trends in the smartphone market. Notably, the Motorola edge 70 fusion appears with two battery options: 5,200 mAh and 7,000 mAh. Opting for the large battery should promise a long battery life. You do pay twenty euros extra on the base model for a larger battery. Computing power comes from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor.
The edge 70 already had very decent cameras for its price, but Motorola has refined them even further. A new Sony Lytia 710 sensor in the main camera (50 MP) should ensure clear photos, even with moving images thanks to built-in optical image stabilization. The 13 MP wide-angle camera has a 122° viewing angle.
On the front is a 32 MP camera that allows you to capture yourself in 4K. If you are still not satisfied with the result, a palette of AI image editing functions is available.
Price and availability
The motorola edge 70 fusion is available starting today. The base version with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, and the 5,200 mAh battery has a suggested retail price of 419.99 euros. The version with the 7,000 mAh battery has a suggested retail price of 439.99 euros, prices including VAT.
