At MWC, Lenovo introduces several new ThinkPads and ThinkBooks. The business portfolio gets an upgrade with the latest processors from Intel and AMD.
At MWC 2025, Lenovo has announced new versions of the ThinkPad T16, ThinkPad E16, and ThinkBook 14. The laptops receive more powerful processors and improved AI functionalities for business users. With the ThinkPad X13, the manufacturer brings AMD and Intel to the same lightweight design.
ThinkPad X13 with Intel or AMD
The ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 is meant to be one of the lightest ThinkPads ever, reportedly weighing only 930 grams. However, the laptop is not empty inside. You can configure the device with an Intel Core Ultra or an AMD Ryzen AI Pro, 64 GB RAM, and a 41 Wh or 54.7 Wh battery. The lighter option presumably exists to enable the weight claim, while devices with the larger battery will weigh slightly more.

It’s particularly notable that Lenovo gives you the choice between an Intel or AMD processor. The lightest designs from manufacturers have long remained exclusive to Intel, partly due to ongoing development agreements. With the ThinkPad X13, Lenovo now offers a slim, powerful, and premium device with internals from both x86 specialists.
ThinkPad T and E
The ThinkPad T14 and T16 Gen 4 receive an upgrade with Intel Core Ultra processors and AMD Ryzen AI Pro options. You can configure the devices with AMD Ryzen AI Pro 300 CPUs or Core Ultra 7 200H and 200U chips. There’s room for up to 32 GB RAM.

Furthermore, Lenovo is launching its first ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1. The 360° hinge makes its debut in this series. The laptop is only available with Intel CPU and up to 64 GB RAM.

There’s also a new regular ThinkPad T14s without a foldable screen. For this, Lenovo turns to both Intel for the Core Ultra 7 200 H, U, and V chips, and AMD for Ryzen AII Pro 300. You can configure up to 64 GB RAM.
The ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 is intended for small and medium-sized businesses looking for a balance between performance and price. It’s configurable with both Intel Core Ultra 7 H and U processors from Intel, as well as regular Core u processors and AMD Ryzen 7 CPUs. You can fit up to 64 GB RAM. The ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 variant is a very similar device in a smaller format.

ThinkBook
The ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 5 is a laptop with a foldable screen. The ThinkBook series is primarily intended for business users in the SME segment. This device can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U, and not with AMD. The laptop offers space for up to 32 GB RAM.

Lenovo is also launching a more substantial laptop with the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 (opening image at the top). It’s equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and configurable with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070. With these specifications, you can actually call this ThinkBook a workstation, suitable for developers and graphic professionals. A screen with color calibration should further appeal to this target group.
