Lenovo announces two new Chromebooks. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is designed to increase productivity on the go. Not just for professionals, as the Chromebook Duet EDU G2 is designed for education.
Thin book
Weighing less than 550 grams and only 0.3 inches thick, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is lighter and thinner than most books. The device can be used as a tablet, but with the keyboard and kickstand, you turn it into a laptop in no time. The kickstand also includes a stylus.
The device features a bright 2K 400-nit 11-inch screen that remains easy to read outdoors and offers up to 12 hours of battery life. It is also ready for adventure with a MIL-STD 810H-certified casing that can take a beating.
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is equipped with a MediaTek Kompanio 838 processor and up to 8GB of working memory and 128GB of storage. That’s enough to handle some office tasks on the go. We are in 2024 and so there should be an NPU in the device, which supports the processor in graphics tasks and also improves the quality of the camera and stylus.
In terms of cameras, you get an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with physical shutter for privacy. It comes with dual USB-C® ports with the ability to connect to a 4K display and delivers clear sound through 2 speakers.
Education
Lenovo is launching a version of the Chromebook Duet for education, the EDU G2, with an additional layer of protection. The laptop is protected by a TPU case with keyboard, has reinforced ports and is spill-resistant (up to 360 ml). Hardware specifications are otherwise identical.
For teachers, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet EDU G2 comes with Chrome Education Upgrade, which allows schools and IT administrators to manage hundreds of Chromebooks in seconds, deploy new devices, customize features and configure secure settings from a single cloud-based console.
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet and Lenovo Chromebook Duet EDU G2 are now available in the Benelux starting at 299 euros, excluding VAT.
