Intel is adding a vPro label to its Core Ultra Series 3 processors, making them more suitable for enterprise use.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 now comes in a vPro variant. Most chips are available with vPro. This does not change their basic capabilities, but it is relevant for large enterprises with complex management requirements.
SaaS for AMT
The biggest advantage of vPro is the integration of Intel Active Management Technology (AMT). This allows IT teams to manage and access PCs at the hardware level, without depending on the PC’s operating system. vPro on Core Ultra Series 3 brings several other innovations. Intel itself highlights four key capabilities integrated into vPro:
- Intel vPro Fleet Services: This solution simplifies out-of-band management via a SaaS platform that supports AMT. This makes AMT accessible to a wider audience. Intel vPro Fleet Services integrates Microsoft Intune. IT teams can activate Intel vPro management from the Intune admin center.
- Intel vPro Intelligence with Device IQ: This feature includes AI-driven analytics to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve hardware issues, reducing downtime and the burden on IT support. Integration with Digital Experience (DEX) platforms is planned for the second half of 2026.
- Intel vPro Security Enhancements: Adds Intel Total Storage Encryption for Microsoft BitLocker and AI-based threat detection with Intel Threat Detection Technology (DTECT).
- Intel vPro Certification Program: Improves application performance through deep collaboration with software developers, resulting in lower CPU load, better energy efficiency, and less background activity, according to Intel. Note: vPro only brings the certification, as the CPUs, cores, and therefore performance are identical to chips without vPro.
Availability
The integration of vPro is important for laptop manufacturers targeting large organizations and government institutions. It is no surprise that manufacturers like Dell have waited for Core Ultra Series 3 with vPro to update their business laptop portfolio.
In terms of speed and efficiency, the vPro chips are the same as the standard Core Ultra Series 3 processors. We already described more details about the capabilities of those Panther Lake processors at the launch in January. The first PCs with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and vPro will be available starting March 31.
