HP LaserJet range refreshes with AI tricks and quantum security

HP is refreshing its LaserJet portfolio, focusing on AI functionality and quantum-resistant security with models for SMEs and larger organizations.

During HP Imagine 2026 in New York, the brand is refreshing its LaserJet offering. The portfolio now consists of two lines: the LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 Series for SMEs and the LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 Series for larger organizations.

Pro: compact, efficient, and quantum-resistant

The HP LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 models target small teams with limited IT support. HP claims up to 25 percent lower ongoing printing costs than the previous generation thanks to the new TerraJet toner technology and adds Wi-Fi 6. Notably, HP calls it the world’s first SME printer with quantum-resistant security, complemented by tamper-resistant toner chips, firmware, and packaging.

In terms of sustainability, the new TerraJet Toner delivers 11 percent more pages with less toner in a smaller cartridge.

Enterprise: lightning-fast printing and scanning

The HP LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 line is built for large teams that rely on fast print and scan speeds. The series offers automatic double-sided scanning up to 200 images per minute and print speeds up to 57 pages per minute. 90 percent of maintainable parts can be replaced in less than eight minutes.

The Enterprise printers are also quantum-resistant and are powered by HP Wolf Enterprise Security, which reportedly reduces the risk of cyberattacks by up to 80 percent.

AI in print: OCR, redaction, and Microsoft 365 Copilot

Both lines receive AI functionality, though not every model receives the same amount. The Pro line uses HP AI for automatic layout optimization, quality improvement, and automated file naming.

The Enterprise line adds extra capabilities: HP Scan AI Enhanced and Editable OCR promise to convert large stacks of paperwork into searchable, editable files. Automated Guided Redaction automatically detects and removes sensitive information such as personal data or financial details. And via an HP Workpath app subscription, HP for Microsoft 365 Copilot is available on the control panel of MFPs.

Availability

The HP LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 Series is expected in May 2026. The LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 Series is available now for contract sales, with broader availability in June. Prices will follow later.
