Working in a dust-free environment? Asus launches three new monitors with built-in air purification, which remove up to 90 percent of dust from the air.
Asus announces a new series of monitors in a press release. The series consists of a 34-inch VU34WCIP-W, a 27-inch VU279HFI-W, and a 23.8-inch VU249HFI-W to complete the line. These are not your average office monitors: the screens are equipped with air purifiers using ionization to remove invisible dust particles from the air.

Clean Air
An air purifier with ionization emits negatively charged ions into the air to attract dust. The negatively charged ions attract dust particles, thus filtering them out of the air you breathe. Asus claims that the air purification technology in the monitors can purify up to 90 percent of dust particles in three hours for a coverage area of one cubic meter, creating a more pleasant working environment for people with dust allergies.
The screens themselves support a refresh rate of up to 100 Hz and a response time of 1 ms for smooth-running images. The 23.8-inch and 27-inch models have an IPS panel with a 178-degree viewing angle. The 34-inch model has the same viewing angle but with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which according to Asus offers 35 percent more screen space than an FHD panel of comparable size.
Blue Light
Asus further ticks off some mandatory boxes, though fortunately, the manufacturer doesn’t make any dubious claims about on-device AI. The screens protect you against blue light, although there is no conclusive scientific evidence that it’s actually that harmful to the eyes. The monitors also reportedly give you a notification when you need to rest your eyes.
Asus cleverly plays into the sustainability sentiment. If you’re good at folding, you can turn the packaging into a laptop or smartphone stand, a file holder, or a storage box for office trinkets.
The Asus VU Air Ionizer monitors are not yet available through the manufacturer’s web store. In the United States, the models are already available. Prices range from $129 for the 23-inch model, $159 for the 27-inch version, to $359 for 34 inches of screen space.
