Asus PC owners better wait a while before installing the Windows 11 24H2 update. Compatibility issues may trigger a blue screen.
Since Microsoft made Windows 11 24H2 available to the general public early this month, the support service has had its hands full. On the long now long list of known problems, for several days there has been a bug that specifically affects Asus brand devices . Asus laptops are suffering from blue screens after installing the latest Windows update.
Microsoft worked with the manufacturer to identify the problem. It is said to be due to a hardware compatibility problem. Exactly which components are the problem, then, is not elaborated on. It is also not clear whether this could affect all laptop models that meet the system requirements for Windows 11 24H2.

To avoid further complaints, Microsoft has temporarily paused the rollout to Asus devices with problematic hardware until the problem is resolved. Microsoft advises owners with the brand’s device not to force the update manually.
Not the only
Asus is by no means the only brand having trouble with the latest Windows update. Western Digital’s SSDs were also found to be susceptible to the blue screen virus. Western Digital has since rolled out an update to fix that problem. We expect Asus to do the same soon. If it’s not a blue screen, the Windows update could also saddle you with 8 GB of unremovable data.
Fortunately, it’s not all doom and gloom with Windows 11 24H2. In addition to new features, the update also ensures that future updates will install much faster.
