Yet Explorer does not appear to have crashed completely. One user informed Windows Latest that it does continue to run in the background, and in some cases can be activated via the sidebar.

Problems downloading

Although this new security update is mandatory for everyone, and consequently should be installed automatically, many users actually get it wrong. In some cases, the installation stops automatically and an error message appears. The system then tries to run the update at a later time, but always with little success. Some users get stuck in an update loop because of this, for others it works with a little patience.

And the list goes on. The camera also seems to succumb to the new Microsoft update. Users reported camera problems after installing the patch. Namely, the system indicates that it cannot recognize the camera.

Delete update

Are you experiencing problems with the new patch? Then it is recommended to remove them and leave the update for a few weeks. Go to Settings >Windows Update >Update History >Remove Updates. Find the KB5051987 update and then uninstall it. When you uninstall the February patch, you automatically fall back to the January patch.
