The beta version of WhatsApp Web now supports (video) calls.
WhatsApp has been working for some time on the ability to let users make (video) calls via WhatsApp Web. Now WABetaInfo has discovered that beta users can already use the functions. Calling and video calling has been possible for several years via the WhatsApp apps for Windows and macOS, but the web version lagged behind.
Video calling via the web
With this new feature, (beta) users can call or video call each other directly from the web version of WhatsApp. In addition, there is the option to video call in group conversations with up to 32 participants. All beta users are expected to see the feature appear in the coming weeks. The release for all users will probably follow afterwards.

Linux users
WhatsApp does not offer a desktop app version for Linux. As a result, Linux users can only use WhatsApp via the web version. Now that the option for video calling is also available in the web version, Linux users can finally use all the functionalities of WhatsApp.
