Microsoft adds pop-out windows Chat, Notes and Copilot to Teams Meeting

Microsoft is working on a new feature where users can open pop-out windows from Chat, Notes and Copilot during a Teams meeting.

Want to take notes, ask Copilot questions or chat with colleagues during a Microsoft Teams meeting? Microsoft is now making this easier with its new pop-out windows in Teams. During a meeting, you can open a pop-out window of your choice (Chat, Copilot or Notes). This new feature is available in preview, but only for members of Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted release. Microsoft wants to collect feedback from members with this announcement.

Pop-out

Microsoft is working on a new feature in Microsoft Teams where users can open their Chat, Copilot, and Notes windows during a Teams meeting. Microsoft is announcing the feature in preview only for members of Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted release. In addition, users must have the new Teams on Windows or Mac.

Are you a user eligible for the preview version? Then look for the pop-out icon at the top of the side window of Chat, Copilot or Notes. The icon looks like two overlapping squares with an arrow in them. After this, the desired pop-out window appears and you can take notes in Notes, chat or ask questions in Copilot during a meeting. You can unfold and move all the panels, or resize them as desired and place them side by side. The Copilot window is some to use if you have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

The new pop-out window is only a preview version. Microsoft wants to gather feedback from its users first.
