Microsoft is adding new image editing capabilities to PowerPoint, allowing users to edit images directly within the application.
A PowerPoint presentation stands or falls with good imagery. Microsoft is now making it easier to enhance images without having to leave PowerPoint. The update brings various image editing options to PowerPoint for Windows, Mac, and the web. As a result, users will need to switch to separate image editing software less often.
Editing images in PowerPoint
With the new update for images in PowerPoint, users can remove backgrounds, erase or move objects, and increase image resolution. It is also possible to add or adjust text within an image. Changes are immediately visible in a preview, after which the user can update the modified image in the slide with a single click.

Additionally, the feature includes automatic enhancements. For instance, PowerPoint can adjust the lighting and contrast of an image. The resolution of images can also be increased.
Phased Rollout
Microsoft is rolling out the feature in phases to PowerPoint for the web users. The capabilities are also available for specific versions of the desktop software.
For Windows, this applies to PowerPoint version 2510 (build 19422.20000) or later. On Mac, the feature is available from version 16.104 (build 25121423).
