Microsoft is adding Agent Mode to PowerPoint, allowing users to perform more complex tasks using AI. The feature is currently in the testing phase and will be rolled out later.
Last year, Microsoft already introduced Agent Mode in Word and Excel. Now, integration with PowerPoint follows. With Agent Mode in PowerPoint, users can create, edit, and refine presentations based on a natural conversation, all directly within the presentation.
Agent Mode in PowerPoint is available via the Copilot Chat pane in PowerPoint for the web and in the Windows app (via the Insiders Beta Channel). The feature is being rolled out to users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, with broader availability expected in February 2026.
Agent Mode in PowerPoint
The AI-powered assistant Agent Mode in PowerPoint is slightly different from the standard Copilot. Specifically, Agent Mode can perform more complex steps. You can ask it to create an entire presentation, change the structure, apply corporate branding, or improve slides, all while the AI takes document context (such as Word reports or Teams chats) into account.

PowerPoint Agent Mode is available in PowerPoint for Windows and via the web. To use it, open Copilot Chat and click on Agent Mode in the Tools menu. Microsoft reports that “Agent Mode is available in PowerPoint for Windows via the Insiders Beta Channel, and in PowerPoint for the web via the Microsoft Frontier program.”
