Microsoft experiments with a new user interface for Edge

Under the codename Olympia, Microsoft is working on a redesign for its Edge browser, emphasizing Copilot.

Microsoft is working on a prototype of a new user interface for Edge, noted Leopeva65 via X. This new interface, codenamed Olympia, gives Copilot a prominent place. Additionally, it would feature an improved address bar and vertical tabs. The Olympia user interface was spotted in the latest Edge Canary builds, but whether it will actually come to life is still unknown.

Windows Central noted that the old Olympia user interface was still present in the latest Edge Canary builds and examined it closely. The experience is not yet optimal and certain features do not work, but it provides an initial glimpse into what Microsoft is working on.

The redesigned address bar is located at the top center, accompanied by a Copilot button. Here you can ask AI something via the address bar or with Voice Mode. Additionally, as in the current version of Microsoft Edge, there is the option to use vertical and horizontal tabs.
