Microsoft introduces Command Palette, the successor to PowerToys Run, which provides quick access to apps, files, or internet searches.
Microsoft has quietly launched an updated version of PowerToys Run. This tool, called Command Palette, offers “easy access to all your most-used commands, apps, and development tools – all from a single solution that’s fast, customizable to your unique preferences, and extensible to include your favorite apps,” according to Microsoft. Command Palette is accessible to all Windows users from the PowerToys app.

About five years ago, Microsoft introduced its PowerToys Run launcher for Windows 10. Now the company is launching an improved version called Command Palette. With this utility, you can search for apps, folders, or individual files, perform calculations, or search the internet without opening a search engine.

To activate Command Palette, use the Win+Alt+Space shortcut once it’s installed. From the Command Palette window that appears, you’ll see the various actions possible with the program. The utility is accessible to all Windows users from the PowerToys app. However, it seems that Microsoft is focusing here on experienced users and developers.
