‘Limited data access hinders employee productivity in Benelux’

Limited access to data between departments is impacting the productivity of employees in the Benelux. This is according to research commissioned by Snowflake.

According to research conducted by Savanta among 1,088 employees, 72 percent of employees in the Benelux believe they could work more effectively if data from other departments were more accessible. At the same time, 47 percent indicate that they have difficulty accessing data located in other teams or departments. According to the researchers, this hinders the potential of data democratization in organizations.

Generational gap in data access

The differences between age groups are significant. Employees between 18 and 44 years old report problems with data access more than twice as often as colleagues over 45: 77 versus 36 percent. However, the message remains the same for the entire group. More than seven out of ten respondents think they would become more productive if they had easier access to data from other departments.
