Juniper Networks and IBM are joining forces. The companies aim to integrate Mist AI and watsonx to reduce the complexity of IT network management.

Juniper Networks and IBM are expanding their collaboration to integrate generative AI into network management. By combining Juniper’s Mist AI with IBM watsonx, the companies aim to reduce complexity and lower operational costs.

Automation

The collaboration focuses on combining Mist AI, a component of Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform, with IBM watsonx, an AI product portfolio. This integration is intended to automate IT network management and improve user experience.

IBM and Juniper are testing the technology in two internal projects at IBM:

  • IBM Guest Services: This project integrates Mist AI with IBM watsonx Orchestrate to automate IT network support. It aims to reduce the need for manual intervention in Wi-Fi issues.
  • IBM AskNetwork: An internally developed tool that combines IBM watsonx Orchestrate and Mist AI to analyze network issues. The tool translates complex technical data into actionable insights for network optimization.

Future Applications

In addition to these projects, Juniper and IBM want to explore additional capabilities, such as location-based insights and diagnostics. This can help with facility management and further improvement of the user experience.

With this collaboration, the companies aim to accelerate the deployment of AI in network management. Through automation and advanced analytics, businesses should be able to manage their IT environments more efficiently.
