Google Changes Gemini 3 Pro Limits for Free Users

Google imposes new restrictions for free users of Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro due to high demand.

Google recently launched its latest AI model Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro. At the launch of Gemini 3 Pro, free users, or those without a Google AI subscription, received “up to five prompts per day”. This is now being changed to “basic access”. Google has limited access restrictions as a result of excessive demand.

Basic Access

Without a paid Google AI plan, users only get basic access to the Thinking with 3 Pro model. The daily limit varies and can change frequently. With Google AI Pro, this increases to a maximum of 100 prompts per day. Google AI Ultra raises this further to 500 prompts per day. For the faster 2.5 Flash model, general access applies within those limits.

An important difference lies in the context window. By default, this is 32,000 tokens. In Google AI Ultra, this increases to 1 million tokens. This is relevant for longer conversations and larger files.

Image and video generation receive their own limits. Google: “Image generation and editing are very popular. Limits can change frequently and are reset daily.”
