Google’s AI Mode will soon include ads.
Google has started rolling out ads in AI Mode. The AI tool has been available since October 2025 in Belgium and other European countries, bringing the chatbot experience to Google’s search engine. The AI responses will soon be accompanied by ad blocks at the bottom. Google adheres to the rules by adding the label “Sponsored” to the ads appearing at the bottom of the AI response.
Ads in AI Mode
Until today, users could use the AI mode in Google Search without being bombarded with ads. That seems to be changing now. “Strangely enough, it currently seems to be only a small portion of users or searches that show these ads,” reports PCWorld.
“In August, Google informed brands about a rollout in the fourth quarter, and it seems the rollout has now arrived in a formalized form. It will be interesting to see if ad placement is also integrated in the middle of the answer output, as we see in the main section of the search results,” writes Brodie Clark, SEO specialist, on X.
Sponsored
To comply with the country’s legislation, Google neatly adds the label “Sponsored” to the ads. The ad blocks appear at the bottom of the answer.
