Google Workspace Migrate is generally available after a long trial period. The tool gives administrators more options to work on migration projects.
Since 2019, Google Workspace Migrate has been in the beta phase. Google is finally moving on to the next phase, where the tool will be accessible to the general public.
Administrators can assess, plan and execute migration projects through the tool. User data and files thereby become easy to import into Google Workspace.
Support
Google Workspace Migrate only works with data from supported applications. Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and “file shares” are mentioned in the blog. Google further clarifies which versions receive support:
- Exchange: Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, and Microsoft 365
- SharePoint: SharePoint 2010, 2013, 2016, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business
- File shares: ‘file share’ must be accessible to Windows
- Box
Older G Suite Business and Google Workspace accounts also receive support. Here, administrators can designate which data or information will be transferred.

Workspace account
In addition, it is important to check which plan your company subscribed to. Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Standard, Education Plus, and G Suite Business customers can use the tool.
