Translation software DeepL deviates from its translation offerings and launches an autonomous AI agent to assist businesses with various business tasks.
DeepL is primarily known for its translation software. The company is now expanding its offerings with an AI agent that does more than just language tasks. This new AI agent can independently perform repetitive office tasks. The tool is currently in beta testing with a select number of customers and will soon be widely available.
Performing Tasks Independently
DeepL is developing an autonomous AI agent to support businesses with various tasks such as accounting, sales, customer support, marketing, and localization. The agent uses virtual tools like a browser, keyboard, and mouse to independently execute commands within users’ existing digital work environments. Users provide their instructions in natural language, as they would to a colleague.

The agent performs tasks such as data collection, automating invoice processing, or translating documents. In doing so, the software independently switches between different applications and workflows. DeepL emphasizes that the agent is multilingual but is primarily intended for a wide range of business applications, not just language tasks.
Control and Security
DeepL indicates that the AI agent is designed to learn from interactions, thereby better adapting to users’ habits. At the same time, there is a strong focus on control and security. Managers can monitor the agent’s operations, intervene during processes, and require approval for certain actions.
The AI agent is part of DeepL AI Labs, the company’s innovation platform. The exact date of the public launch is not yet known. However, DeepL states that the product is designed with ease of use in mind, as well as compliance with business quality and security standards.
