Apple is bringing its AI suite as standard to the new iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3, but you can manually disable it yourself.
For those heading to the new iOS 18.3 or macOS 15.3 with their Apple device, Apple’s AI suite will soon see an appearance. In fact, Apple Intelligence will be installed by default on these devices, the company announced in the operating systems’ release notes. Fortunately, for those who would rather not have it, there is a switch that you can easily turn off.
AI as standard
Apple will now set its AI suite Apple Intelligence as the default on iPhones, iPads and Macs, starting with iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3. Previously, users still had to set this up manually themselves. For those who prefer not to have the AI suite on their device right away, they can easily disable it. To do so, go to the Apple Intelligence & Siri Settings panel where you will see an Apple Intelligence switch appear. You can then turn it off.

Apple Intelligence is coming to Europe after all
Apple Intelligence was introduced last year, and the first AI features appeared in iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1. The AI suite is currently not yet available in Europe, with the exception of macOS users. According to the company, that would change starting in April. Then the AI suite will also open its doors to European Apple users with iPhones and iPads. This delay was related to the DMA, which Apple initially disagreed with.
