Apple launches Final Cut Pro 11, with new AI-supported tools and an improved workflow. The software now also supports spatial video editing, tailored to the Apple Vision Pro can bring.
Apple Launches Final Cut Pro 11 With the new version of its video editing software, the company introduces new features on both Mac, iPad and iPhone. For the first time, users can edit spatial videos, which can be integrated directly with Apple Vision Pro. This is an interesting new capability, but one that is only of interest to a small niche. After all, the Apple Vision Pro is not a widespread product, and VR glasses in general are not that ubiquitous.
Smart tools
Apple makes immediate reference in its launch to the Magnetic Mask feature, which automatically isolates objects and people in video clips without the use of a green screen. Also new is Transcribe to Captions: a feature that automatically generates subtitles by converting audio to text using an Apple-trained language model.

The new version includes further AI capabilities, such as Smart Conform to adapt videos to social media formats, and Voice Isolation to reduce background noise.
Mobile and Logic Pro
Final Cut Pro for iPad has been revamped along with features such as Enhance Light and Color that automatically applies color and contrast enhancements. The iPad version also offers new Live Drawing inks, haptic feedback and support for color gradient presets and dynamic soundtracks. For iPhone 16 Pro, there is now support for shooting in 4K at 120 fps in the Final Cut Camera app, which also has a Log Encoding option to reduce file size.
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad has received an update with the new Quantec Room Simulator plug-in. This provides natural acoustic spatial effects for music, inspired by vintage acoustic techniques from Quantec, according to Apple’s promo talk. This should make the app a complementary tool for video editors in the Apple ecosystem who want to add natural ambient sounds to their projects.
Availability and price
Final Cut Pro 11 is available on the App Store as a free update for existing users, or at a purchase price of $299.99 for new users. For the iPad, a subscription is available starting at $4.99 per month. Logic Pro for Mac and iPad can be downloaded as a free update or purchased for $199.99 on the App Store.
