Adobe is expanding Premiere Pro and After Effects with new AI tools designed to make video editing faster and more accurate.
Adobe has introduced new AI tools for Premiere Pro and After Effects. This isn’t the first time. For example, last year Premiere Pro received Generative Extend and Media Intelligence.
New Mask Features
In Premiere, Adobe is introducing an AI-powered Object Mask feature, Adobe writes in the announcement. Users can easily move over a person or object in the frame and automatically generate a mask with one click. The mask follows moving elements in the clip and can then be adjusted manually. According to Adobe, the processing takes place locally on the device and user data is not used to train AI models.
The existing Shape Mask tool is also getting an upgrade. Ellipse, Rectangle, and Pen masks can now be created directly from the toolbar, and the controls have been refined for more precise positioning. Adobe claims that these new masks can track objects up to twenty times faster than before, reducing waiting times during rendering.
Integration with Firefly and Adobe Stock
Premiere is also getting a closer link with Firefly Boards, Adobe’s AI canvas for creative workflows. Users can now import media directly. Adobe Stock is also now fully integrated into the program, allowing users to find and use stock material faster.
For After Effects, Adobe is adding support for SVG files from Illustrator. In addition, users can now create 3D parametric meshes, such as cubes, cylinders, and spheres, to build graphical and photorealistic objects within compositions.
