Adobe pours Photoshop into mobile for iOS users

Adobe Photoshop mobile version

Adobe is bringing the Photoshop experience to iOS users. It offers similar features as in the web version and is free to subscribers.

Adobe is launching its new Photoshop app for iPhone that incorporates much of the design, editing and generative AI tool on desktop. Creatives can use it to easily perform mobile edits, in a recognizable Photoshop environment. The application is available for free to subscribers, but some premium features require an additional subscription. Photoshop for mobile is available today on iOS, and an Android version will appear later this year.

Mobile Photoshopping

Adobe is bringing its popular photo editing program Photoshop to iPhone. This app includes many of the features and tools contained in the web version. In addition, the app can be integrated with Photoshop on the Web, allowing you to edit your projects on different devices.

A simplified version of Photoshop Express has existed on mobile devices for some time, but Adobe says the new app is more powerful and offers a wider range of recognizable Photoshop capabilities.

The Photoshop app allows you to combine, merge or blend images with the familiar Photoshop tools such as selections, layers and masks. Other features you can use on the mobile app include Spot Healing Brush and Tap Select. In addition, you can also use Adobe Firefly’s generative AI tools such as Generative Fill and Generative Expand in the mobile version.

Free for subscribers

Users who already have a subscription to Photoshop will have premium access to Photoshop on mobile. Certain features, such as Object Select, Magic Wand, Content Aware Fill, Clone Stamp and the Remove Tool, require a monthly subscription of $7.99, or $69.99 per year.
