Adobe is integrating an AI assistant into Express, allowing users to create and edit content based on simple conversations.

Adobe is adding an AI assistant to Express that allows users to edit content based on natural language. For example, you can ask the chatbot to make an image more “tropical.” The assistant then applies this by changing backgrounds, colors, or fonts. The feature is currently available in beta for desktop users with an Express Premium subscription.

Conversation-driven Edits

The AI assistant in Adobe recognizes and edits specific layers in a design, such as images, text, or backgrounds, without affecting the rest of the creation. This makes it possible to transform existing templates into personalized designs without extensive technical knowledge. The technology combines Adobe’s own creation platform with generative AI models and chatbot-like interactions.

Adobe emphasizes that the AI assistant uses both proprietary and external models. The feature is trained on creative workflows and aesthetic guidelines, and takes into account composition, color use, and typography. The assistant can also automate tasks, such as creating variations on campaigns or adjusting a theme across multiple assets.

Business Features Coming Soon

Adobe announces that Express will soon receive additional features for enterprises. This will allow employees to create content themselves that meets corporate identity guidelines. Features such as template locking, batch creation, and approval processes should increase productivity within marketing teams.

The AI assistant is currently available in beta for desktop users with a Premium subscription. With general availability, the assistant will be accessible to all users via the Firefly credit system.
