Atos Secures Cybersecurity Contract with the European Commission

The European Commission has appointed Atos to provide technical operational cybersecurity services. The contract could reach up to 326 million euros.

Atos secures a new framework contract from the European Commission, focused on technical operational services in cybersecurity. The company will collaborate with consortium partner Leonardo. Together, they will support European institutions, agencies, and other entities with specialized cybersecurity services.

This agreement is part of a broader strategy by the European Commission to strengthen its digital infrastructure. The agreement has a duration of up to 48 months and could earn Atos up to 326 million euros. During this period, Atos will provide services including incident response, digital forensic investigation, threat intelligence, malware analysis, and offensive security such as penetration testing and Red Team operations.

Strengthening Europe’s Cyber Resilience

With this collaboration, the European Commission opts for a supplier from Europe. In the context of digital sovereignty, this is not a coincidental choice. Atos plays a leading role in the contract and will be the first to be called upon to execute assignments within the framework agreement.

The choice for Atos fits within a broader context of increased attention to digital security within Europe. The Commission aims to better arm itself against cyber threats and therefore chooses external partners to provide specialized support.

The collaboration with Leonardo aims to ensure that the services offered are sufficiently broad and deep to meet the needs of the EU. The focus is on both operational execution and building sustainable capacities within the institutions themselves.

Second Chance for Atos

For Atos, the contract is an important recognition. After a long and painful restructuring where the company was in dire straits, it aims to gradually climb out of the valley. That partners like the European Commission give Atos a second chance shows that the company can still play a significant role in the European IT landscape.
