Ubiquiti has introduced SuperLink, a new wireless protocol to connect smart sensors.
SuperLink is a new protocol from Ubiquiti to connect smart sensors, designed specifically for both private households and businesses.
New standard
According to Ubiquiti, SuperLink would be a new standard for IoT. The company is thereby capitalizing on the ever-growing trend, Gartner named smart sensors as one of the tech trends of 2025.
SuperLink is said to have low latency that makes data transfer fast. In addition, the protocol is said to be highly energy efficient and can connect more than 96 sensors within a two-kilometer line of sight. Furthermore, it features Bluetooth Low Energy and compatibility with “Protect BLE” sensors. For optimal coverage, Ubiquiti recommends hanging SuperLink high on the wall or in a central location.
Ubiquiti continues to expand its portfolio. For example, it recently launched its first NAS and 2.5 Gb Ethernet switches with eight ports. The first devices with SuperLink are expected to hit the market later this year, but the SuperLink Gateway is already available now for 125 euros excluding VAT.
