At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, FRITZ! is showcasing new home networking routers that utilize Wi-Fi 7, 5G, and fiber optics, among other technologies.
During Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, FRITZ! (formerly AVM) is introducing several new products. The focus is on expanding the Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, 5G routers for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and solutions for gigabit fiber optic networks. Additionally, the company is presenting a quad-band Mesh Wi-Fi extender and a Wi-Fi 7 USB stick.
FRITZ!Box 6835 5G: FWA with Wi-Fi 7
Included in the FRITZ! lineup for MWC is the FRITZ!Box 6835 5G, a router that combines 5G and Wi-Fi 7. This allows the router to fall back on 5G connections where broadband coverage is more limited. This router offers download speeds of up to two gigabits per second and an upload speed of up to 900 Mbps. The FRITZ!Box 6835 5G supports eSIM and SIM, and is powered via USB-C.
Thanks to Wi-Fi 7 with dual-band 2 x 2 antennas, data speeds of up to 3.5 gigabits per second can be achieved. Additionally, the router features 2.5 and 1 gigabit per second LAN ports for fast wired connections. As a fallback, the router can also serve as a backup via another FRITZ!Box during network interruptions.
Alongside the 5G variant, FRITZ! is also showing the FRITZ!Box 6825 4G, a mobile router with Wi-Fi 6 that provides reliable internet connections via the 4G network. Thanks to USB-C power and compatibility with international networks, this router is suitable for both home use and travel, featuring fallback protection.
Strengthening fiber optic networks and Wi-Fi 7 expansion
During MWC 2026, the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, 5690 XGS, and the new FRITZ!Box 5630 and 5630 XGS models will be presented. These compact routers support all common European fiber optic standards, such as XGS-PON, GPON, and AON, for maximum speed and stability.
The models feature multi-gigabit LAN ports and Wi-Fi 7 with speeds of up to 3.5 gigabits per second. Features such as VPN, smart home, and telephony are integrated and can be easily managed via the manufacturer’s app.
