AVM showcases new FRITZ! products for Wi-Fi 7 and fiber optics

AVM Adds New Products to the FRITZ! Product Family, Further Expanding the Range of Wi-Fi 7 and Fiber Optic Solutions

At the ANGA COM trade fair, AVM introduced new FRITZ! devices for fiber optics, DSL, and Wi-Fi 7. These include routers, repeaters, and mesh solutions that address the growing demand for faster and more stable networks at home and in the office.

Routers and repeaters with Wi-Fi 7 and PoE

The FRITZ!Box 7630 is a new entry-level DSL model that already features Wi-Fi 7. For fiber optic modems, AVM introduces the FRITZ!Box 4630, with speeds up to 2.5 Gbit/s. Additionally, the company is launching three new Wi-Fi 7 repeaters: the FRITZ!Repeater 1700 and 2700 for indoor use, and the FRITZ!Repeater 1610 Outdoor, which operates via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and is designed for outdoor applications.

AVM is also expanding its mesh offering with the new FRITZ!Mesh Set 1600. This works with any modem and offers a wider range combined with flexible placement options. With this, AVM targets users who want to expand their existing network with stable Wi-Fi in every part of the house or office.

Fiber optic networks and OS features

The new models support various fiber optic technologies such as AON, GPON, and XGS-PON. According to AVM, the devices are suitable for both network operators and end users, partly thanks to their easy installation and broad compatibility. Previously announced models such as the FRITZ!Box 5690, 5690 Pro, and 4690 offer direct connection to fiber optic modems.

An upcoming feature in FRITZ!OS 8.20 is the automatic fallback via mobile networks. In case of a fixed connection failure, the router automatically switches to a mobile WAN connection. This “always-on” functionality is intended to ensure an uninterrupted internet experience.
