Thanks to a new collaboration between Microsoft and Mercedes, you’ll soon be able to make calls via Teams in the car.
Microsoft and Mercedes-Benz are integrating Teams and Intune into the MBUX system of the new CLA. Drivers can participate in Teams meetings while driving via a built-in camera. The video automatically turns off when the meeting ends to minimize distraction.
A Third Workplace
In addition to Teams, the car will also get Microsoft Copilot, according to PCWorld. This allows drivers to summarize emails, retrieve customer data, and manage calendars using voice commands. According to Mercedes and Microsoft, this transforms the vehicle into a full-fledged ‘third workplace’, alongside the office and home.
The “Next Meetings” feature shows your upcoming meetings, and you can dictate chat messages using voice control. Intune ensures a secure connection to company data. This is a surprising move for a consumer brand like Mercedes.
Only with Subscription
The new features will be rolled out via MBUX 4.0, scheduled for this summer. Those who want to use the features will need a subscription. The price varies by region. The CLA itself costs a minimum of $45,550, with a top model going up to $54,350.
