More Freedom of Choice

The Dell Private Cloud is now generally available. This solution supports on-premises and SaaS deployments and helps businesses automate, scale, and manage their private cloud. Users can build their cloud environment with components such as PowerStore, PowerFlex, and PowerMax, choosing their preferred cloud stack. AI-driven automation simplifies infrastructure management and monitoring.

Dell further integrates NativeEdge into its Automation Platform, which should simplify the management of distributed cloud and edge environments. PowerStore also gets additional capabilities. For example, there is now support for QLC flash memory, and ties with Nutanix are strengthened.

The combination of Dell and Nutanix solutions should offer customers more control and freedom of choice over their virtual infrastructure. Other improvements include AI-driven self-healing and enhanced security options, including biometric authentication and anomaly detection.

PowerFlex and PowerMax

PowerFlex introduces a new architecture that combines data resilience, storage optimization, and scalability. The software-defined storage solution offers storage optimization and can handle up to two node failures simultaneously. This ensures the availability of business-critical data, even during outages.

PowerMax receives software updates that add QLC support, among other things, and simplify management with one-click updates and automated replication management. The focus is on performance, scalability, and security. Improvements include Single Sign-On with Microsoft Entra ID and encrypted notifications for security incidents.

Security at the Center

Dell is also expanding its PowerProtect portfolio. The new PowerProtect Data Domain DD3410 is aimed at smaller environments and offers grow-in-place scalability and advanced data protection.

Additionally, a new PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance is being introduced. This software-driven solution provides centralized management and support for immutable backups, anomaly detection, and integrity checks.

Most updates will be rolled out in October 2025. Some solutions, such as PowerProtect DD3410 and PowerStore support for Nutanix, will follow in 2026.
